The Garmin nuvi 785T does not have the ability to surf the web. Did you mean something else or a different unit?

If I can't surf the web with my 785T Garmin how do I upgrade my maps?

You need to use a PC or MAC to connect to the internet to download the map updates. The unit can not connect directly to the web. The map is sent from the computer to the GPS via a USB cable. First you will need to purchase the map update.
