We are planning a RV road trip from Miami to LA. We are thinking we would like to purchase this item ( Garmin Nuvi 1490 LMT) and plug it into to rental RV, then once the trip is finshed bring it back to Australia and plug it into a car. 1. Is it an easy plug and use model? 2. When we get back to australia how do we get the Australian maps on it?

I would greatly appreciate your advice, cheers tony

Or can anyone suggest a different model that will serve our cause?

The Garmin Nuvi 1490LMT would be a great choice, they are easy to use and can have the Australian maps added via a data card. Since you are from Australia I would recommend purchasing the maps for your country on DVD, as then the maps could be updated in the future.
