Can you charge the Garmin nuvi 750 from the computer? with a usb cable

Hello Holly,

The Nuvi 700 series doesn't charge properly using the USB port of a PC. When you hook it up to the PC it goes into Mass Storage mode and will power of the USB. Not all USB ports on a PC supply enough power to charge the unit but you can use a USB to Cigarette lighter adapter made by Garmin as an alternative charging method.

Yes but when you charge through the usb I cannot use my unit as it shows it connected to a PC for download and will not function on mapping mode?

Hello Larry,

You can not use the unit's map screen while plugged into the computer or using a third party cable. You will also need a Garmin cable to charge it in the vehicle. If you use a third party power cable it may not work properly.

your in car charging cable has broke my car plug twice it fits to tight. Do you have a slightly smaller in car plug?
