Is there a better Garmin for map updates?

I have gone through the process of loading map updates on the unit as well as on to a SD card and it's a pain!

I have asked Garmin what model they would suggest, that would, for the forseeable future hold new updates I didn't get an answer.

Unfortunately the Nuvi 13xx and 14xx series did have a memory limitation. This has been rectified on all of the new series, ie. the Nuvi 23xx, 24xx, 24x5 and 25x5 units, as well as the new Nuvi 34xx and 35xx, Guidance 3.0 models.
