Returning after trying to get to work with Garmin they suggested could be bad unit. I suspect its half baked software that is the culprit. Used the 3490 and 3590 in the same locations with the 3590 not rendering 3d buildings. Also, with the 3590 I paid for the advanced Weather package syncing with my Android Galaxy Nexus and if i get warnings, hitting the button provides no information (it worked only once..a fluke), yet I will get multiple warning.s

Thank you for your feedback but we have not heard of these issues yet so it may be a faulty unit. Please continue to let Garmin know any issues you have. 1-800-800-1020

Chris,

I have the same problems with my 3590LMT and I also subscribe to all the Nüvi Link Services and whenever I go into the weather and view radar my unit restarts. No info except 1 time on weather alerts. I receive no traffic info using the traffic receiver that comes with it even though it has stations in the GTM FM Table. Clearing them will still not receive the info even after waiting several minutes to refresh. I ordered it directly from Garmin and I'm perturbed with their urgency to send a replacement, they are telling me I need to ship back on my dime and package it and everything then wait 12-14 days to receive it back.

Rob,
Interesting and I suspect Garmin is going to need to send out a patch to fix this. If a current owner is not using the Smartlink feature, there is no issue. For the record, I purchased mine through GPS City and they were more than happy to make me satisfied. I contacted Garmin twice and on the final call they said they woudl replace it as it sounded like a "unit" issue. GPS City was more than willing to kick one out to me. I finally got an RMA to send it back, but they were out of stock. So I am just waiting and reading, as the Smartlink feature, 3d Building rendering are MAJOR reasons for me upgrading. I wish you well Rob.

Here is perhaps a more detailed write up I found regarding my Smartlink/Advanced Weather issue I've referenced.

Now, I understand that a new Smartlink update has been pushed to the Market Place, as well as updates to Garmin 34xx and 3590. This appears to fix Traffic alert issues, cannot comment on the Advanced Weather. I will be in Vegas from 3/30-4/2, any chance of picking up a New 3590 GPS City ? I'd be willing to give this another shot.

Please give us a call. We normally do not do pickups in Vegas but may be able to make an exception.
