I was going to buy this unit, then when I went to order it shows Discontinued. Are they going up date this unit or is it gone period? Thanks.

Hello James,

The Nuvi 8XX series is at its end of life. Garmin has not officially announced a similar unit to replace it yet. You can still buy the Nuvi 855 however the market is almost dried up so I would act right away. I prefer and recommend the Nuvi 7XX and 8XX series.

Cheers
Jordan

I use the models with bluetooth for hands free calling. So the Nuvi765t is a good one. The series with an 8 as the middle number are not recommended because you pay more for MSN direct and it will be discontinued in just over a year.

cheers
Jordan
