How to transfer a trip planner from a Nuvi 3790 to Basecamp?

1.) I have searched (I think) everywhere to find out if or how I can transfer the trip planner I created on my nuvi390 into Basecamp. The waypoints from the trips/routes in the nuvi show up but the routes do not.

2.) When I look at the maps "zoomed in" in Basecamp there are a gazillion icons of every store and restaurant on the map and then also my own waypoints appear as a blue flag. All I want to see are my own waypoints flags. How can I change the setting so all the other things I am not interested in don't show up on the map? (the map is unbelievably cluttered with icons I don't want to see!)

Transferring routes from a nuvi 3790 to a computer and vice versa is not a feature of that unit.

On a mac you can click on 'Hide Map Features' in the bottom right of the program. I could not find the same function in Basecamp for Windows. For windows you will need to play with the detail level.
