When to activate the nuMaps Lifetime product key?

I brought a new 1450LMT unit this week. It was just registered with the maps for US and Canada updated today. A card "nuMaps Lifetime" came with that unit with a separate product key for the lifetime map and traffic updates. Shall I activate this card right now or wait until the map updated today is expired which is on May 18, 2013? Please advise. Thanks.

It really doesn't make a difference, the lifetime maps and the one free map included are the same map information.
