how do I begin to use the features? All I have on screen is GARMIN...it will not give a menu or anything else other than GARMIN.

Try performing a soft reset on the Nuvi by depressing the power button for more than 10 or 15 seconds until the unit powers back on.

If the soft reset does not work, try a hard. With the unit off, press the lower right hand corner of the screen and depress the power button at the same time. A screen should appear asking "Erase all user data?", press Yes to reset the unit to factory setup. The unit should restart by itself.

Running the Garmin WebUpdater program to load or reload the latest software will often fix any issues with the unit.
