Hi. Firstly sorry for my english. My question is : I live in Montréal, Québec and I want to go to Niagara Falls, Ontario. Why my GPS garmin 1490lmt make me pass by the United States instead of Canada. I compare the road on Google Maps. Have written the same address in Ontario and I don't take US road. I stayed in Canada all the way to Niagara. What did i did wrong.

You can try changing the units routing preferences. You can also set a via point at a city like Toronto, then the unit will route you through there forcing you to stay in Canada.

Thank you. I will follow your advice. Could you tell me why when I read the details of the road to take, the GPS doesn't tell me that I will cross the US border ?

That data could be lacking from the programming. You will want to submit the border crossing warning to Garmin and they may be able to add it to future updates.

I will surely submit that lack to Garmin. I know that the road they suggested was the shorter distance (11 km less) than passing by the Canada...but if I follow the itinerary they suggested and arrived at the US border ''without'' my passport, I will have to come back and take another road. No funny !Thank you Jordan.
