Can this unit be powered by an external cable? This unit is to be mounted on a motorcycle

Yes this unit comes with a cigarette lighter cable for powering the unit externally. Garmin nuvi's should not be mounted on a motorcycle (they are not waterproof/dust proof or rugged) but many people do, because of that we also carry hardwire cables and mounts for the unit. With the nuvi 3760 you have to use the cradle that Garmin provides with it to power the unit. You may want to buy a second one for the bike along with the required RAM mount.
