I currently use an outdated Quest II. I use it because of the cookie or bread Crumb tracks. I work alot of the time on private or new county roads that are not on the map. The track feature is literally a life saver. I would like to have this feature in my next GPS. I also would like to have the lane change feature. Bluetooth capabilities, book reader, xm/sirus, picture viewer are not needed. The latest map update is larger than the Quest can load due to limited memory. I also use Map Source to record locations and roads. What model would you recommend buying.

The nuvi 3590 has one Trip log (Travel history) that will show where you have gone the same as a track log. If you want a unit that can save multiple track logs and give voice navigation the Garmin Montana is a great unit. However you have to buy maps for it separately. If you can live with one track log then the nuvi 3590 is a great unit

Would the Zumo 660 be a better choice?

The Montana is way more diverse that the zumo. However the zumo has a couple extra features for motorcycles. If this is for a motorcycle then either will work but the zumo will have bluetooth for wireless voice commands and handsfree calling. The Montana being a handheld can collect better track data and will be closer in operation to the quest. The quest had some outdoor handheld features.

I really like the lane change feature of my wife's unit in traffic be it OKC or DFW areas. But I can for go this feature for the tracks feature. I just looked and saw that I had 57 trip logs on my quest II so I don't know if I could get by with just one. The Montana being a handheld unit does it have the automotive features? I'm using this in a 4x4 that works in the oilfield. I'm open to what ever works.

The Montana has most automotive features but lacks things like junction view and lane assist. It will give you turn by turn voice directions with an external speaker. The Garmin nuvi does a better job for street navigation but really lacks when it comes to other GPS features like tracklogs. Feel free to check out all the videos we have on the Montana.
