How Garmin 1390 LMT selects between map in internal memory versus map on a SD?

I purchased a Garmin 1390LMT while visiting the US. It has the US/Canada map in its internal memory. I came back to my country, Brazil, and I'm going to buy a map of Brazil from the Garmin site, officially, to install on a SD card. Being in Brazil, with the SD inserted into the device, how will it work? Which map will it show when I switch it on being in Brazil? Is this an automatic process (via latitude/longitude, the device will know I'm in Brazil?), or I'll have to do some tricks to hide the US?Canada map? Thanks for helping a newbie...

Because Brazil and North America do not overlap both maps will show without the need to enable and disable mapping.
