When I turn on the unit,it stays frozen on the first GARMIN screen. The touch screen won't accept a touch command. And when I plug the unit with the usb port to the computer, the computer can't recognize that it's connected. Is there some way to "reset" the unit that might correct this problem?

Try holding the power button in for about one minute. This may reset the unit. Will the unit connect to a computer?? If yes then please try a Firmware update using Garmin's WebUpdater program.

When I plug the unit to the computer with the USB port, the computer wont recognize the GPS unit, therefore I cant update any of the software.I will try the power button for one minute though.

I held the power button for several seconds, then a black dot appeared with a white background. The screen said touch dot. The problem is that the screen wont accept a touch to the touch screen, so when I kept touching the dot,it would not register. I understand that touching the dot is to recalibrate the screen, but what do you do if it wont take the touch?

Same problem, 2 months old. Threw the thing in the trash. Life is just too short.

There is no fix at this time other than sending it in for replacement.

plug gps in the pc via the usb-port. let the pc recognize the gps as a disk/stick. the pc will fix any fault on this disk.
