Are you shure about your explanation for the difference between 3590lmt and 3580lmt sold at Costco ? You said the 3580lmt sold at Costco does not have 3D traffic.

This is what is included in the box when you buy a 3580lmt at Costco:

What’s Included:

nüvi® 3580LMT GPS
Preloaded City Navigator® NT North America
3D traffic receiver with integrated vehicle power cable
Lifetime map upgrades*
USB cable
Quick start manual.

Why would Costco include a 3D traffic receiver ?

Thanks

Dino

When you search for 3580LMT on the Garmin website it pulls up the 3590LMT. This is a "special" model number made for Walmart/Costco. It is the 3590LMT, just re-labeled.

Hi
Jordan @ Gpscity is quite correct. The 3580 ships with a "non digital #36" 3D traffic receiver with integrated vehicle power cable. The 3590 ships with the "DIGITAL model #60" 3D traffic receiver with integrated vehicle power cable.

May 30, 2012 The difference is the traffic receiver included with the package according to Garmin. The 3580 will have the older traffic receiver. The 3590 will have the 3D traffic receiver. At this time 3D does not work in Canada but the 3D traffic receiver will default to the older service that works. The 3580 does not have the option of using the more advanced 3D traffic when you travel and when it comes to Canada. We sell the nuvi 3590 because it is more diverse. No sense selling a unit that will limit you when you travel."

If the 3580lmt is a "special" model number made for Walmart/Costco, does it have lower quality or quality control?

The 3580lmt, less the DIGITAL model #60" 3D traffic receiver, does it worth the it'price ?

A 2595lmt looks similar without the screen definition and 120 $ less expensive. It might be a better buy.

Comments ?

Hi,
I just bought the 3580 at Costco.
I don't use the traffic receiver. I can't answer about it.
But on the box it's written Traffic HD.

The guidance system is 3.0. Before, I used the 2595 model with the 2.0 system.

The 3.0 is faster that 2.0 to re-calculate the itinerary.
