I downloaded the cityexplorer map for Vancouver BC. How do I access this specific map once I arrive--I imagine it is different/special from what I will see or have access to by just powering on my garmin. Thanks!

You should be able to see the map selection in your Map setup menu. Tools -> Settings -> Map -> Info If it is enabled there will be a green check beside it

I see the green check mark next to CN NORTH AMERICA 2013.10. Directly underneath it lists 1) cityXplorer Vancouver 2013.10 and 2) US & Canda West. There is not a green check mark next to #1 and #2 nor can I click on them. Should I just assume they re loaded because they are under the heading which is checked green? Then back to my original question--thansk! Also, once in pedestrian mode in Vancouver, will there be voice prompts like when I am driving or not?

Yes, the unit will provide voice directions in pedestrian mode.
