Can a NUVI 3590LMT be connected in a car without the quick mount?

Is there a way to connect a 3590 in a car without using the quick mount bracket? The NUVI has a micro SD slot but the power cord has a mini SD plug that will only plug into the mount.
I am trying to find a way to mount the GPS using a bracket that attaches to the dashboard vents and still remain plugged in. Unfortunately most of the brackets I have seen will not allow the quick mount to be attached to the GPS.
I would like to be able to have the GPS mounted in the middle of the dashboard this way as I have been told that Minnesota law prohibits winshield mounted units.

The power cord will only plug into the cradle. The RAM mounts allow for the use of the Garmin cradle and factory power cable.

Thanks for your reply Jordan, unfortunately none of the RAM mounts will mount a GPS to the dashboard vents. Do you sell any mounting kits that will hold a 3590 and mount it to the vents (and also allow it to remain powered up)?

We do have a vent mount. However I do not recommend putting the large screen unit on your vent. Here is a link

I have used the. Nuvi3590 without the quick mount/speaker, I use the micro USB that allows connection to a laptop and that charges the battery. Seems to work fine and now charges with the same wall mount cord I use at home with other devices like my Atrix android phone... hope this helps

We recommend using the powered cradle for the power connection to the Nuvi. Plugging the cable into the back of the unit via the data port will work but also puts that connection at risk of failure due to stress and vibration. It is easier to replace the powered cradle than repairing the connection on the printed circuit board of the GPS.
