Is there a setting for the Garmin 3580 Screen Resolution?

I have just replaced my Garmin 3690 with the Garmin 3580. I never had a problem seeing the screen with the 3690, but can barely see the screen with the 3580. Am I missing a setting? What can I do to improve screen resolution during daylight hours (sunny days)?

You can not adjust the resolution but you can turn up the back light.

Thanks Jordan, I turned up the back light to 100% and still can barely see the map, let alone roads or other details. Could I have a faulty unit? I have the unit mounted on the left side dash of my vehicle.

Does your GPS have a full battery charge? Feel free to send some photos to our sales email and we can take a look.

Thanks again Jordan, The unit doesn't have a full charge. Just got it last night, and had it connected to the computer for 4 hours, and still with a "Battery Low" warning. Have reconnected it to the laptop to charge it, but after an hour, it hasn't moved beyond the "red" portion of the Battery sign. Is there something else I should be doing?

The unit will not charge properly through a computer. You will need to plug it in your car. If you want to charge it in the house you can use the car adapter for the house. Please see the link below.

Thanks Jordan. I have been able to fully charge the unit, it does make a difference, but it still isn't as clear or bright as the 3690, and difficult to see with the reflective sunlight. I have read that it is supposed to have exceptional clarity. Is this a common problem, or do I have a defective unit? I can easily return itb but, if it is a common issue, there's no use to take it back.

I compared what we sell the nuvi 3750 vs the nuvi 3590. I found that both screens are very similar but the nuvi 3750 seems that it views slightly better in sunlight. I also checked the nuvi 3490 and it was the same as the 3750. I think the large screen doesn't view in the sun as well as the slightly smaller version.

I have never seen a nuvi 3580 so it is difficult to comment if what you are seeing is a problem with the unit. That product is only available to big box stores at this time. I would suggest calling Garmin about the problems you are seeing. 1-800-800-1020

Based on what I see with our models the larger screen does not work as well in the sunlight.
