Could you be more specific where you are seeing the "SCOUT" option. Is it a text option? Is it in the Smartlink menu? We don't seem to have this option on our demo model.

"Scouts" are an optional display item of a route map like "speed" or eleven or time t arrival. YA user can change these optional items and "scouts" are one of the options... I hope this clarifies...

Would you be able to send us a screen shot of where you found this icon, and a step by step on which menus you go through? Our unit does not seem to have the SCOUT option loaded, and Garmin doesn't list it as a feature in any of their units.

Was there any meaningful reply to this question. I have just purchased a 3590 and have noticed the same icon. It does seem to be connecting to something because the "number of scouts" seems to change quite regularly.

When you have a route in the unit you will have more data fields to choose from on the map screen data bar.
