Hi, I bought a GPS Nuvi 1490LMT November 28, 2011. The order number is xxxxxx. This GPS failed in June 2012. My GPS was changed to a new 22 June 2012. The order number is xxxxx At this occasion, I bought an extension of two years guaranteed. Now, it is the keyboard that is lacking: many letters do not work in the ABCDE form in French. How should I proceed to apply the guaranteed.

Thank you!

Please contact us via our phone or email system for warranty swaps. Personal information should not be placed in a forum.

Your unit does not sound defective. It seems like your calibration is off on the screen. First try a update using Garmin webupdater then a screen calibration.

Screen Calibration
- Turn device off
- Put finger on upper left hand corner of screen & hold it
- Power device on and continue to hold your finger in the corner
- give the unit sometime to boot up and you should see a screen calibration window.
- Follow the instructions

If that does not help feel free to call us
