Rural roads?

I have a new Garmin Nuvi 2595LMT. It does great on the highway. Unfortunately, my destinations are not on highways. I want help getting to Provincial parks, lakes, trailheads, rural houses, etc. I don't want to use the nuvi to hike (I have a Garmin GPS for that). I just want to use it to navigate signed official gravel roads, and it clearly does not know the regular named gravel roads or provincial parks or major lakes. What mapping software do I need to add?

Topo maps will have some of the data you are looking for but not all. I dont think there will be a perfect option. The best Topo map we sell is the backroads GPS maps.

Can I load the backroads GPS maps on my Nuvi 2595LMT or would a different car GPS be better for me? (I want bluetooth, voice-activation, & audiobooks.)

I notice that the Backroads GPS maps DVD's are only compatible with windows. I have a Mac and my nuvi does not seem to have a port for a SD card. How would I load the backroad maps? And could I use the backroad maps on my computer as well?

The nuvi has a card slot for the Backroads maps on the side of the unit.

Backroads will load into the nuvi via SD(microSD) card and will show you more data for rural areas. For traveling in more urban areas it is best to use the preloaded City Navigator maps on the unit.
