I got a new 1450 LMT (gave the old one to my daughter).

I tried to load the North America maps and failed. I read the info on this site and was successful. I then went out and bought a micro SD card - 4 GB and installed it in the unit.

Finally, I remembered that I hadn't registered the produt yet. I went to the garmin site and and it won't recognize my unit...it just keeps searching. I know the unit is plugged in properly because both the garmin and the micro card show up on my computer (Macbook Pro 10.6.8) Help!

You will have to call Garmin for assistance with your account with them. 1-800-800-1020

Before calling you can try a different web browser and or try reinstalling the Garmin communicator plugin.
