Multiple maps installed

I had looked at the topic about maps not fitting in internal memory and my nuvi-1490LMT did return the "not enough memory" message when I tried to update to the latest version. To fix the problem, I bought a 16GB micro-SDHC card and loaded the latest maps on that card. When I look at the map info on the nuvi I now have two versions listed The NT 2011.30 resides on internal memory and NT 2013.20 resides on my memory card. I can't figure out how to remove the older NT 2011.30 using the BaseCamp application, and I am not sure I want to do that. When I select the older map in BaseCamp, I get topographical elevation information that is not part of the newer version of the map. I can de-select the older map on the map info page, which I assume will keep the GPS from using data from that map. Will it cause any problems if I leave both maps installed? The down side is that I then will have less memory to use for POIs, waypoints, etc.

I would not worry about the other map on the internal memory. You will have plenty of room for POI and waypoints. You can try using Garmin MapInstall to remove the maps from your GPS unit. Just take the memory card out. Mapinstall will tell you what maps are loaded and will give you the ability to delete them.
