On loading maps and updating soft ware, my QWERTY keyboard disapeared! How do I get it back. I have tried all obvious software and firmware reloads. ABC is very inconvenient.

Try these nuvi menus
Tools -> Language -> Keyboard

I tried that... only one option, ABC. My QWERTY is GONE!

Sorry I gave you the wrong menu selection.

I was able to verify with a unit. Can you confirm that you have the latest firmware and that you have a nuvi 1490 and not a different variation of the nuvi.

You can also phone for guidance. Here is the Tech support phone number for the Garmin products. 1-800-800-1020

I have a 1490 LMT and my problem is that when I loaded the latest firmware and maps, my QWERTY disappeared.

After doing the update I still have a QWERTY keyboard. Try resetting your GPS unit for you may have a bad setting in it.

Also check your language settings and make sure everything is set to a North America English in Language. Then check the System menu again. If you still can not get it working please feel free to call the support line for assistance. 1-800-800-1020
