Can not save destinations on 2555LMT. After pressing the "Save key", the keyboard that is displayed does not have a "Back Space", "Return" or "Done" key. There is no way to actually save the name of the destination. The unit just "sits" and waits for the "Done" key to be pressed. Only way to get out of this screen is to shut the 2555 down.

The points are automatically saved when you hit save when using the map to place a point. No keyboard will come up. To find the points check the Where to? menu then select Saved on the right. You will have to go into that menu to change the name the unit automatically gives the unit.

When using the Where am I? screen and then hitting save button, a keyboard will come up. Done is the green button in the bottom right of the screen. Right above the Done button is the Backspace button. You can also use the X in the top right of the entry area to delete everything in that field.

Please try updating your GPS unit using Garmin WebUpdater to see if that helps with the problem you are seeing.

How are you placing the waypoint?

Thanks for the answer Jordan, but my problem is that when I use the Where to? menu and try to Save the address that I input, the screen that appears has no Green button, there are four rows of keys, one row for numbers and three rows for letters with a Shift Key on the left side of the last row and a Space key on the right side of the last row. No delete and no backspace keys. Used Garmin WebUpdater but no help there.

That is very odd becuase I tried saving an address and had no problems with the keyboard. Here is how I did it.

1. Where to?
2. Enter and Address
3. Select the address I want from the search list
4. Select the letter 'i' that appears
5. On the summary screen hit the three bars in the top left corner
6. Select save
7. Keyboard comes up with all the normal buttons. Enter a name then hit done.

Is that similar to what you are doing

Hi Again Jordan. I managed to come up with the keyboard that you see and the one required. The default Keyboard Language is American English, Using the Settings Menu, I changed that to British English and the complete keyboard appeared when I pressed the Save button. When I Reset the Garmin, holding lower right corner during start-up and all, the Keyboard language was changed back to American English and pressing Save gave me the incomplete keyboard again. I'm using the British English Keyboard language and everything works as you explained. This may be a problem with this particular 2555LMT or with the Firmware that it is using. Thanks again for the help. Frank

That is odd. I checked my language settings and I am in America English.

Text - American English
Keyboard - America English
Layout - QWERTY
