How large of a Micro SD card external memory will the Garmin Nuvi 3590LMT be able to take?

I do not recommend larger than 8Gb but it can do 32Gb

Why do you recommend no larger than 8 GB? Would a 16GB be safe?

The unit does not play music and is only used for street navigation so 8Gb is enough for that and some audio books. Larger cards I find cause the unit to slow down on boot up
