Can you tell me the difference between the following items:
1) Garmin Mini USB 12V Cigarette Lighter Adapter for Nuvi Item#: 010-10723-06 and
2) Garmin Universal Vehicle Power Cable Item#: 010-11838-00
I'm looking to get a replacement cable for the car since I don't want to use my OEM traffic receiver cable for out of country travel in case it gets lsot. Thank you.

The 010-11838-00 is newer and outputs a higher current for larger screen units and GPS units that require more power.

What GPS do you have? It is best to check the accessory page for that unit to ensure you get a compatible car charger.

You should have no problems using the 010-11838-00 cable with the nuvi 1490. However you will not get traffic anymore when you use that cable. You will need the traffic cable for that.
