on my nuvi 2595LMT, I never get any traffic reception (this is with the GTM60 HD traffic power cord). I live in So. NH which is on the edge of Navteq coverage map - but I do travel to zones nearby that should have better coverage. With additional traffic extension cable I do get occasional reception but reception comes and goes and I have wires all over my windshield! My question is would I get better, more reliable reception with a 2595 that has the new internal traffic receiver built-in, and if so how can i identify the units so equipped?

The reception will be about the same. There are lots of factors that may effect the traffic reception. Being on the edge of the coverage area will reduce the signal quality and how often you pick it up. Where you mount everything in the vehicle will change reception also. Tint in your windows ...

** I have not been able to test the internal and external traffic receivers side by side. Being similar hardware with the exception of the traffic receiver built in.
