The Nuvi 3590 doesn't say recalculating?

My previous Garmins, whenever I varied from my route, spoke, "Recalculating," then spoke directions to get back on route.
My new 3590 just displays new turn instructions at the top of the screen, but doesn't speak anything at all. I have selected, Jill, American English (who speaks street names, but this hasn't fixed the problem. I have to watch the screen continuously to determine when a turn coming up. Help?

It sounds like your volume is turned down. The volume button is on the main screen at the bottom.

The 3590 no longer says "recalculating" for some reason Garmin took that out on their newer versions, now it just recalculates the route.

Make sure you haven't turned the mute on.
