Can topo maps be loaded and viewed on nuvi 1490?

Topo maps can be loaded onto a nuvi but it is not fully compatible. You wont be able to search outdoor POI and the maps will not be as easy to read as compared to a hiking GPS.

I highly discourage anyone from using a nuvi for hiking or any activities outside driving and walking in the city. If the Topo maps are just to supplement the driving maps when in rural areas that is a good use for them in a nuvi.
