When one purchases this option, how do I go about loading waypoints, routes and such from mapsource, to my new GPS if created using a old version of North America NT that is registered to another GPS?

Hello Norotso,

You can use your older software for transferring user data in GPX format. However the maps can not be transferred to your new unit. Sometimes routes don't line up because streets are not in the same location so you may have to just send points for those routes.

So save everything as a gpx verses the default gbd, then copy to my new GPS's route folder or folder of my choice?

Why are is the map of my area to badly out of date? Am I required to download a new map? My 5 year old TOMTOM is better then this device. IF nothing can be done I will have no choice but to buy something other than a Garmin.

Hello Bob,

Garmins maps are way ahead of the ones Tomtom uses. Of course there will be the odd area that is different. Yes you should always update your unit to make sure you have the latest map set. Also if no one ever reports a map problem in your area it will not be fixed so be sure to do so if a map update does not help.

Cheers
