Hello ed, There is no traffic in the Victoria area but when you go to Vancouver you will get the updates. Here is a link to information on how traffic works. /buzz/2010/11/free-garmin-lifetime-traffic-video.html Cheers

The unit will not have any designation letting you know it is an LMT. If it is either a 1390T or 1390LMT it will say just Nuvi 1390 or 1390T on the bottom. To figure out if you have either one, just try to register the unit with Garmin and activate your lifetime mapping subscription. If you do not have a lifetime mapping subscription, then you do not have an LMT unit. To determine if your unit has traffic, simply look at the traffic cable to see if it has a serial number on it and if it is called a GTM 25 or 35 - then you have a traffic cable.
