Hey Paul,
Unfortunately the Nuvi 2x5 series, including the Nuvi 255W, do not offer a track function. The device only allows for routes and favorite locations, ie. a saved location. If this is a feature you are quite interested in, I would suggest looking into the Nuvi 755T.

I am thinking of going to the UK for a vacation and would like to take my GPS along. Is it possible to install maps for England ?
