How do you provide power to the Garmin Nuvi 255W if you want to use it on a motorcycle?

Hi Dawn,
If you don't have a cigarette lighter adapter on the bike then we offer a Gilsson barwire to mini-USB cable that can be hardwired directly to a power source on the motorcycle. Find it here, http://www.gpscity.com/gilsson-bare-wire-power-cable.html. Thanks!

Says not compatable with the 255W in the specifications for this item.

Hello Can,

You are correct. The cable has just recently been found not to work all the time with the nuvi 255W. At the time of the post there were no known issues. Another option is the FMI-40 fleet cable.
