I read that Garmin's traffic update supplier ends their contract in December of 2011. Will Garmin replace this server so the LMT purchasers will continue to have traffic updates?

Hello Snowchick,

You were given incorrect information on the service. You have no worries, he lifetime traffic will not be expiring anytime soon. You may be thinking of MSN Direct. Microsoft is ending that service in dec 2011 but that has nothing to do with LMT or life time traffic models. It applies to older GPS units that were using MSN direct.

I did a side by side comparison on the 1490LMT and 1390LMT I see the 1390LMT has MSN Direct.. Is this service going away next year. Are both of these models current or is the 1390LMT older. I would like to but a current model with the most up to date items. Would I be better off with the 1490LMT over the 1390LMT

Sorry for the error in the Spec table. No units come with MSN at this time because it is being discontinued.

How can you justify a $30 price jump in one day on this model.This unit was $189.99 yesterday. One can't even research a product without getting a bad taste. What is this, wall street.

Hello,

No the 1490 does not have the find my car feature, this feature is only found in the 3700 series.
