Hello Jon,

The answers to your questions is YES. With Garmin Basecamp you can create and transfer routes and waypoints between the units and or the PC/MAC.

Our HOG club has ride routes in Garmin format on or web site. I have tried to download onto my computer, but I get some error stating the file cant be opened, I need a program to do so and it takes me to a microsoft website regarding registry, etc, looking for a way to open the file. Do I need Basecamp program or one like in order to open these files and transfer to my computer?

Hello Danny,

You will need Basecamp or a program that can read the GPX files created by the unit. Basecamp with no maps is a free download from Garmin.

** The files can also be opened using a text editor.

Cheers
Jordan
