Hardwire Power Issue/Cable?

I recently purchased a nuvi 1490 Lmt and GUSB-5V-B Cable to wire directly to the back of an accessory plug in. My problem is that the Nav unit turns on with the key but after about 10-15 mins of driving it says external power lost. I have confirmed the connections are good it just doesn't seem to be able to keep up with the unit for charging. Am I using the proper cable or have you seen this before?

Hello Aaron,

We have not had this issue with the cable. Is there something else on the vehicle like a transmitting radio that could pull down the entire vehicles voltage? I just gave one a test instore with no powering issues. Could it be a loose connection? how did you connect it to the battery or switch power source?
