Does Garmin 1390LMT's updates come from MSN which is ending in 2012 or from Navteq?

Hello,

The 1390LMT Traffic information comes from Navteq via FM receiver. None of the new units use the MSN direct traffic. Thank you for inquiring.

Hope this helps!

the only thing I have noticed after getting it is the traffic does not automatically work like they say with the FM receiver...then they tell you to get a code off Garmins website and it doesnt exist....it is very frustrating with no support to find how to simply get the traffic...anybody know?

Hello Dave,

What service are you referring to? FM or MSN direct? MSN direct is at the end of its life so that is most likely why you are having issues. You shouldn't have issues with FM traffic.

Cheers

No one has mentioned about pop ups in their reviews, so I was wondering if when you re trying to get traffic reports if pop up advertisements come on the screen?

I would like to know if pop up advertisements come on the screen when you are trying to get traffic reports.

We have not noticed them on our Area but they may show up in yours. The pop-ups do not get in the way of safe navigation.
