I was turning on my Garmin2XX unit once & noticed it had a screen with a white background and some type of data (it happened very quickly)in cells (almost like an MS Excel spreadsheet). Do you know what this is, how to use it?

Hello Stevelmjj,
Most of Garmin's vehicle units, including the Nuvi 2xx series, include a diagnostics screen. This can be accessed at any time, by pressing and holding the time, at the top right hand side of the main screen. This diagnostic data provides information about processing power/speed, internal memory available and many other tools.

Still can't get this data???

When I press on,hold then release (after several seconds) the time located on the top right of the screen that has "Where to?" and "View Map", I just get the "Time" screen that shows "Time Format" and "Current Time"

What am I doing wrong? It is a model 205

Thanks,
steve

Is the unit unplugged from the USB and/or cigarette lighter adapter? It should be, and maybe try holding over the Battery icon instead.
