I'm considering the purchase of a Nuvi 3760LMT to replace my Street Pilot 2720. Nuvi Lifetime Map Updates is shown as good for the lifetime of the unit. Is that for the length of time I own it, until it breaks down for some reason and not cost effective to repair, or until Garmin discontinues the 3760? Are the map updates downloadable to my desktop computer also?
Is it also possible to create a route on the computer and upload it to the 3760 like I do with my 2720? I read over the owner's manual online but didn't get my questions answered.

Hello RF,

LMT is for the life of the one GPS while you own it. The update is not transferable to another account. The updates download to your computer but you can not view them on the PC. Direct transfer to the unit only using the included wizard. To view the maps on a PC you will need to buy maps separately.

You can plan routes with and for the nuvi 3760. It has the ability to save multiple routes.
