How to perform a hard reset?, Bill Bob, Ontario
My old unit had a reset button, is there one on a 255W? Will it stay fully charged on the auto cigar socket or should I plug in to the USB every once and a while? Is there a way to display more steet names? Even when I am on a street it recognizes and one turn from home, it tells me to make a U-turn and go around the block! Why?

To reset your unit just hold your finger in the bottom right corner while powering the unit on. You will get a prompt to erase all user data. You can also perform an update to reset the unit. I suggest updating your maps to see if that solves your routing problems in your area. Please keep in mind like all products they are not perfect so some weird directions are acceptable. Normally the weird routing is because of map errors. You should also report all map errors to NAVTEQ the map maker. USB does not charge the unit properly so plugging it in the car will charge it better. To display more street names please play with the map detail settings in the units tool menu.
