This is a great Q&A list! Guess what I got for Xmas? Can I use my new Garmin Nuvi 1490 LMT to keep track of my location when I take pictures?

Also, is there a way to delete language files, to recover some memory? I only need English.

Thanks for this helpful site.

Hello Kitty,

You can delete voices in the unit. Just hook it up to your PC and navigate to the voice folder then delete the ones you do not need.

You can keep track of your location for geotagging in a few different ways. One is to mark waypoints when you snap a photo. They add the position data to the photo using a compatible photo editor.

The other is to extract the track log and use a external program to tie the coordinates to the photo using the time stamp. A sample program would be WWMX made by microsoft.

I normally do not suggest the Nuvi for what you are doing but it will work fine.

cheers
