Can I create routes using MapSource and transfer them to the 3790?

Mapsource doesn't transfer routes to/from the 3790LMT
The new routing is a pain compared to my old 750. I cannot put in via points and navigate from the beginning to the end of a route. It forces me to "stop" at each via point for a set time.

Hello Craig,

You are correct. You can not transfer routes to a nuvi 37XX from Garmin MapSource or Basecamp. You can transfer waypoints to the 37XX and then use the built in trip planner to make the route.

* How close to the via points do you get and how long do you notice the unit makes you stop for?

Cheers
Jordan

I have Microsoft Streets and Trips which exports GPX files. Does the Garmin 3790 import GPX format files? If not, which Garmin units do you have that will import GPX format?

You would need to import the GPX data into Basecamp then transfer to the GPS. Basecamp is free and will allow you to do trip planning. At this time the nuvi 3790 does not support external route creation. the nuvi 2360 will allow you to import a route from the computer.

Hello Domienb,

You will want to check your Trip planner where the routes are saved. Tools -> Trip planner
