Can't Input North Carolina Address?

We tried to use our 1390T in North Carolina, and could not get it to accept addresses. It will only go to North Dakota, start to change country and state, type in north and it goes to North Dakota. Will not recognize North Carolina. I have tried to update the maps online, thru computer and it says the update is successful, but it still will not let me program a North Carolina (Monroe) address. Can I purchase a SD card with the Southern States maps on it, and plug into the GPS unit? We are going back to NC end of March and want to be able to use the Garmin while we are down there. Thanks for any help and advice in advance.

Hello Jack,

If you have updated you unit recently then you no longer have all of North America. You will need to load the lower USA to be able to search the Carolina's. You can do this by running the map update again and choosing a different region. If that is not the issue feel free to contact us again or Garmin.

Cheers
Jordan

I did an update, and never got a screen that asked what region I wanted. We use a Mac, with OS X 10.6.6, could this be an issue? I am in contact with Garmin also. They have been sent the same reply I am sending now to you. Thanks for your help, quess I will try an update again, and hope to get a prompt for the Southern U.S. Thanks again. JC

Hello Jack,

The screen comes up but you may not of noticed the options. When you run the update look for a drop down box. It will say the region you selected or the default one. Just drop it down and you should have a few more choices.

Cheers
Jordan
