I am ready to order this unit.
Will I be able to customize it for use on an upcoming trip to Germany-
if yes what map would I require and at what cost? How about future updates for this application? Is there enough memory for North America & Europe.
Would it be useful for pedestrian application as well?
How does the 'Garmin' with pre-loaded N.A./European maps compare to the
1390 LMT?

Hello George,

The nuvi 1390T once updated will not hold all of North America. Also it does not come with Europe mapping so you will need to purchase that on memory card. The unit will work fine in pedestrian mode but be carefull of battery life.

The nuvi 1390LMT and 1370LMT are the same unit except the 1370 has more internal memory to hold Europe and North America.

Cheers
Jordan

Tx. Jordan,
sounds like the Nuvi 1370 is the unit for me. Will it be pre- loaded with 2011 N.A./European maps. How would I upgrade those
in the future-independently or together--at approx. $$ ?
Would I loose some map detail due to memory shortage during updates? Tx. again George

Hello George,

You will need to buy an update for Europe and one for North America.

* You wont loose map detail but as time goes on if the map gets too large for the memory you will need to omit some countries you don't visit to fit the update in. We have not heard of any memory problems with the 1370 as of today

Cheers
