Plan My own Route?

I uploaded a route I created via Mapsource on my PC. It is in the device memory, as well as on the MicroSD card, now. I can't figure out how to find that route to select it to start navigating. I can find the waypoints, and if I click my destination, the device initiates its own route. What am I overlooking? I _definitely_ need to be able to activate my PC-generated routes. Come to think of it, the same goes for the Cyclops trial speed camera POIs that I loaded. It shows that they are there, but I can't access them (unless they just pop up when encountered...) Thanks.

Hello Cbill,

At this time you can not transfer routes from a PC to a nuvi 2360. Routes must be created on the GPS using the Trip Planner software located in tools.

The Cyclops trail Speed cam POI if loaded using poiLoader will be in Extra's in the "Where to?" menu. If you loaded via mapsource they will be in Favorites.

Cheers
Jordan

That's a major bummer that you can't download routes from your PC to the Garmin 2360LMT. That's the main reason I was about to replace my 255WT today with the 2360LMT. Can you download routes from the PC to the 3790LMT ? Can you manually copy over gdb files with routes to the 2360LMT? I can download gdb files from the internet with great motorcycle rides already mapped out and want to make sure I get the right model. I had to manually input the waypoints on my 255WT to get a pre-planned route on the GPS which took hours!! Thanks, Pam

Hello Pam,

If you will be using the GPS on a motorcycle then you are better of with one of the following devices,
- Nuvi 550
- Zumo 220
- Zumo 550
- Zumo 660
- Zumo 665
They are made rugged and will hold up on the bike a lot better. You will also be able to create your routes properly.

If you are not using it on the motorcycle and would like to pre-plan routes then you may want to look at the nuvi 1390 or nuvi 1490 GPS units

Cheers

I tried nuvi 2360 and it has nice features if you follow the map and the suggested routes. However, I need the features to have the off-road tracks saved and can be tracked back. Also, I need to create my own routes on Mapsouuce and upload it on my GPS.Please recommend one model for me?

For your use a nuvi is not suitable. The Montana GPS would be muvh better. Or similar like a Oregon 450. Handhelds have trackback built in plus a ton of other useful features nuvis do not have. We recommend nuvi's for urban driving.

But I'm looking for one for my SUV and not a handheld one? Can you please suggest another one for me other than the Oregon and the Montana?

The Montana is a complete crossover unit, so it provides the same navigation functions as the nuvi series. Additionally it can be used in an outdoor environment, as it is waterproof and has the ability to save tracks and trackback along them.
Our recommendation would still be the Montana because of these features.
