Will I still be able to download updated maps for my 500 or do I have to just junk it? Also I would like to know if a 500c usb pc cable will work on a Garmin 205w gps. Thank you.

It looks like your unit will not be able to take an map update. I am waiting for a call back from Lowrance to verify. The USB cables have the same connections but it may not work because some Garmin cables are wired a little different. Trying the cable with your unit will not hurt it. I would try a iway500c cable for you but at this time I don't have one handy.

I live in vegas and have been trying to find a usb caqble in the area. Right now my iway has a blank screen (no map) and is useless from trying to update with a usb cable that didnt come with it.

Hello Kern,

The iWay 500C uses a standard USB cable. Here is a link to one that will work for you.

But I used a standard USB cable and now I don't have a map. At the end of the download process there was an error message. Do you know what I need to do?
