I purchased this GPS for use in Italy.

I would perform a firmware update to make sure that everything is up to date. Just download Garmin webupdater from Garmin.com Once the update is done put the GPS outside for at least 20 minutes to see if it starts to track satellites. If it does not you will want to contact your dealer or Garmin for further assistance or replacement.

Well, we are in Europe and do not have access to any interconnecting cablling. This is a disappointment purchasing this product and will return it once back in canada.

If you traveled from Canada to Italy you will need to let the unit track for at least 20 minutes while you are not moving when you get off the plane.

If your still having trouble,
Do a Master Reset to force the device to find a new signal.
It may be lost trying to find you in Canada.
You will loose all your addresses and saved favorites.

With the device turned off and disconnected from power.
Hold the lower right hand corner of the screen.
Turn the device on.
Keep holding the screen until the " Do you realy want to erase all user data" comes up.
Let go of the screen and press Yes.
The device will restart.
You should pick up the signal rather quickly after the basic start up questions are answered.

Good Luck.

The device picked up the satalite signal after 20 minutes in open area. I tested it in Greece and Turkey and worked fine.
