I purchased the GPS over the xmas holiday. What I can't seem to do is to get it to map out a route from the east coast Canada - to the west coast Canada - THRU Canada. It immediately takes me into the US from New Brunswick and stays thru on that route till almost the west coast (Victoria). How can I get the Garmin to route just thru Canada?
Thanks for any info
Linda

Hello Linda,
To have the Garmin Nuvi GPS route you across Canada without dipping into the United States you will need to set "Via Points". A Via Point is a destination within your main route.
First Enter your end destination. The unit will route you through the states again, don't worry. Then pick a city close to your current location. Route to this city and your unit will ask you if you want to insert this point as a via point. Select Add as Via point. Keep doing this along your route across Canada. Maybe choose the cities in Canada, you plan on visiting on your trip.
You will want to play around a little with the route to get the way you want to go. You can find more help in the Manual. I have included a link below. I found useful info on adding a Via Point on Page 13/72

Cheers
Jordan
