Problem with the Nuvi 255w startup?

When I hook up my Garmin 255w it stays on the satellite page & won't go on to calculating. If I jiggle the wire in the back, sometimes it starts to work. Is this a problem with the wire or with the unit itself? I have tried it in different cars & the same problem. Thanks

Have you tried updating the firmware for the 255w? Here is the address for the webudpater page at Garmin.com.
